From Florida to Alabama to Mississippi, Louisiana and finally Texas – four days later we finally made it. And I helped!

We basically drove, stopped for the night and drove again to make it to Victoria, TX for the holidays with Jack’s family – several days later than expected. We did stop at a great ROD/AOR campground east of Mobile, AL called Styx River Resort. While there we met up with our old camping buddies from New York, Steve and Betsy McLaughlin for great visit. As we get closer to the holidays with love ones and friends, please don’t forget our military friends. You can write them a note at www.letssaythanks.com . We want to wish every one a very Happy Holiday, safe travels and the best in 2007.

Jack is ready to rock and roll again. After 9 days in the hospital and 17 days of daily antibiotics at the infusion clinic, Jack is allowed to travel. He is feeling much better, stronger and will continue treatment with oral antibiotics. Other than hospitals, doctors offices and the outpatient clinic, we saw few sights in Florida. However Chad and Katy did take us out for some Christmas adventures. One night we went to Lido Keys for dinner at Tommy Bahamas and walked around the square enjoying all the Christmas decorations and unusual shops. The next night we went to Venice to the Lighted Festival of Boats parade featuring 46 decorated boats. Now as we leave Florida, with smiles on our faces, we start our trip to Texas for the holidays with Jack’s family.
