Time to travel south ….said goodbye to our friends at Monaco and headed out for Batesville IN to one of our membership parks, Indian Lakes Thousand Trails & NACO Park (very nice). We went to Metamora IN., another quaint, historic town. In the middle of the town is a canal where you can board a canal boat and travel through Duck Creek Aqueduct. It is the only covered wooden aqueduct still in working order in the US. On Tuesday we headed to Madison, IN – another extremely interesting town full of history nestled beside the Ohio River. Another town suggested to us but we were not able to visit is Nashville. From here we chose another membership park in Owensville, MO, Lost Valley Lakes Resort and OMG what a place to stay. This is by far the best park we have ever stayed in. It is on 353 acres of green land with several lakes, indoor and outdoor pools, almost 800 sites, 3-hole golf course, Frisbee golf, riding stables, adult activity center that features everything from bingo to basketball, workout gym, country store with restaurant and more. If you don’t have a rig you can rent a trailer, cabin, or condo. You can also rough it by renting either a tent or tepee. The resort is in the middle of nowhere with closest town about 45 minutes away but was worth the commute. We did venture out to Herman, a German town full of old historic buildings, antiques, and wineries. We of course visited the one brewery in town along with 3 wineries, not all on the same day. Then back to camp to enjoy the rough life.

On the road again……

After three months in the Buffalo area we are back on the road with our first stop in Elkhart, IN for general maintenance on the coach.

While “home,” we spent many days with Scott, once again working on his house. The living room and dining room definitely took on a new and better look. Work has started on his den but left that project for Scott and his girlfriend, Meg, to finish. So many plans but so little time……

It is always nice to come back and see so many of our Buffalo and camping friends. We also took care of our personal maintenance with visits to our doctors, dentist and hair saloon. Once again Jack had to visit the hospital for another stent. He is on new medication and hopefully this wonder drug will solve his problem.

We made a trip to Pennsylvania to see our good friends Gary and Barb Stockslager, for a weekend of movies, great food and even better companionship. Their youngest son Steve also joined us while taking a weekend break from medical school.

Coming home is great but time to move on. For those we did not see, please call us so we can make plans next year when we hope to be back in the area in July. Turn in often for update on our travels as we go another year seeing the United States.
