Christmas, New Years, time in Arizona and now leaving, heading to Las Vegas ----- where does the time go. Christmas this year was in Texas with Jack’s family. Scott was also able to fly down and be with us. It is always great to see all the relatives and spend time with family.
January 2 we headed to our winter home at Canyon Vista in Gold Canyon, AZ for two months of fun in the sun, great sunsets and time with great friends. This year for the most part, January and February’s weather has been in the 70’s and 80’s with lots of sun, which is great for all the birthday parties’, happy hours and feasts!! We once again made the trip Quartzsite to the RV Show, Superbowl party which included the 3-D glasses for everyone to see the special commercial, trips to the Mesa market, Gourd Fest in Casa Grande, dinner and music at San Tan Flats, art show at Fountain Hills, Arizona Opry, and the musical “King and I” at the local community theater in Gilbert. New this year was the Light Rail from Mesa to the northwest side of Phoenix, 20-mile trip one way. We stopped and ate at a Greek restaurant on Mill Street, where we were introduced to Flaming Saganaki (a flaming cheese appetizer). Due to the nice weather we were fortunate to spend most of our time outside and met some great new friends. March 6 was our last hoorah at Canyon Vista, another reason to eat and drink, and there were 21 celebrating a great time. Jack also spent many days flying his helicopter (and many nights repairing it). We were able to see three model airplane and helicopter shows which were great – and even saw that the professionals also crash their planes (oooops). With many memories and new friends, we head out to Las Vegas with two other couples for another short adventure together.
